The story tells of a farmer who has an uncontrollable desire to find diamonds and become rich. So he sells his house and farm and goes in search of diamonds. Unfortunately, his search is fruitless and he dies broke and destitute, never having achieved his goal. Surprisingly, the buyer of the farmer's property one day finds an unusual stone in a stream on his land. He learns that it is a diamond of enormous value and discovers that the farm is full of them.
