This news and more in our Monthly marketing recap #7 for June 2023.
WhatsApp Channels Are Coming
After launching channels on Instagram a few weeks ago , Zuckerberg has now announced that the same feature will soon be extended to WhatsApp.
Through the new WhatsApp channels, companies and organizations will be able to send text messages, but also photos, videos and surveys to members. Communication will be one-way and the british student data channels, as already happens on Instagram, will have a dedicated tab so that they are separate from normal chats with friends and family.
WhatsApp channels will initially be released in only two countries: Colombia and Singapore. The goal is to soon make them available worldwide, offering all users the ability to create their own.
Meta has already aired the possibility of promoting paid channels in the appropriate directory or integrating them with Meta's payment systems . What is certain is that the roll out of all the functions, as always, will be progressive and we do not yet know the release times of the new option. The channels will become particularly interesting because they will allow you to engage people and open a direct communication channel with them, both for business activities and to build dialogues based on sharing content. The channels will become a new touchpoint of relationship that will certainly need to be monitored, also with engagement activities.
Finally, Meta has already released the ability to edit messages up to 15 minutes after sending and automatic transcription of voice messages will also be coming soon.
Artificial intelligence is increasingly present
Meta is also working on building a series of generative models for text, images, and videos , as well as those capable of generating rich 3D content, up to entire worlds in the metaverse, and WordPress recently launched an AI writing assistant to help users create and edit blog posts. The new tool, called Jetpack AI Assistant , can be activated for free, but after 20 requests you need to activate a paid version with a monthly fee of $10. This plugin helps you write better, correcting spelling and typos, but also improving the text based on the style you want to give it.
