Since the DMA legislation came into force, we have seen noticeable changes in the SERPs, especially in the travel sector. Google's services have dominated this sector the most, but in a number of European countries, including Germany and Italy, there have already been significant shifts in the search results for some travel-related keywords.

For example, an Italian searching for hotel fantuan data accommodation now sees several different services at the top of the SERP to compare, rather than just Google product features as was the case before. This shows that Google is starting to comply with the new law and is no longer prioritizing its own interests.

According to a study, comparable services appear in the first positions of the search engine in more than 80% of cases. Google Hotels itself is now found in second or even lower positions, which is appreciated by competitors who have not yet had a chance to reach the top positions.

However, the situation is still somewhat different from the accommodation sector when it comes to searching for airline tickets and flights. Here, Google's own services still occupy the top positions in the SERP, and the internet giant will have to work on implementing DMA rules in this area. However, the changes recorded so far indicate that a positive reform of the presentation of search results is taking place in the European digital space.
