Tablets and smartphones use a completely new, different from the traditional, way of user interaction with the interface: you can navigate the site not only by clicking on various elements, but also by moving your fingers left, right, pinching, etc. Therefore, today, specialists who can adapt website interfaces to touch screens are in great demand. This task is successfully solved when, sitting at a laptop and having the ability to open the standard version of the service in the browser, you still open the mobile application on your phone. In fact, such specialists must combine the functions of a designer, layout designer, developer and usability specialist.

In terms of the further development of professions in the IT market, two important trends can be noted. On the one hand, the need for highly specialized personnel (for example, developers for us companies board of directors email database specific platforms) continues to grow. On the other hand, there is an obvious general focus on the development of cross-platform products and, at the same time, the demand for "generalist" specialists who are equally well versed in different areas. For example, in addition to a narrow specialization related to programming in a particular language, a person must have knowledge of mobile platforms and desktop applications. Therefore, specialists who are able to quickly adapt, are ready to learn new things and constantly expand their horizons will be in demand.
Big Data and Augmented Reality: Footage Worth Its Weight in Gold

According to Alena Vladimirskaya's forecast, in the next 5
years, specialists in completely new areas such as AR (augmented reality) and
Big Data (big data and
business analytics) will be in demand in Russia. According to Gartner analysts, by 2015 the number
of employees whose work is related to data processing and analysis will exceed
4.4 million people.

It seems to me that a truly long-term trend that formed in 2012 and that will continue for several (possibly many) years to come is the increasingly active use of accumulating data about users (consumers) and their behavior. To work with such data, we need qualified specialists whose profession in English is called data scientist (there is no good Russian translation yet). I believe that this profession will be increasingly in demand in the coming years. Its peculiarity is that a data scientist needs a good knowledge of fundamental mathematics, the ability to program, and a well-developed intuition. On top of this basis, you need to learn to work with specific arrays of behavioral information, build models, and generate hypotheses for business optimization based on these models. Unlike many other “new” specialties on the Internet (for example, “content manager” or “SMM specialist”), you can’t retrain as a data scientist from just anyone – and therefore people of this profession will be in short supply for a long time, and their role in the structure of modern companies (and, accordingly, their wages) will grow. The shortage of such specialists, by the way, is already very noticeable today.
As for augmented reality, specialists in this
field will be in demand by a variety of companies, says Irina Kharseeva (Fitting Reality). The trend “AR on anything, everywhere, every time”
, announced in 2012, not only
outlines the paths for further development of the technology, but also indicates the need
for new specialists.
The term “AR on anything” means that
AR content can be viewed using any device, including computers,
mobile devices, glasses, and even contact lenses.
