Meher discovers WordCamps in Mumbai in 2016

Post by pappu9265 »

Her first experience at a meetup wasn't love at first sight. She felt the topics were for advanced users, and the late evening meeting time wasn't a good fit for her.

But a few months later, a meetup was scheduled to feature a topic that could help her solve a problem in one of her ongoing projects. She made time and attended the meeting, receiving some valuable advice. The speaker took the time to talk to individual participants. When he approached Meher, she took the opportunity to ask a few questions about the problems in her project.

After that, she attended a few more meetups and met the people behind the group just as they were talking about preparing for WordCamp Mumbai 2016.

Meher has shown interest in participating in the upcoming phone number library WordCamp Mumbai and has taken on some light organizational tasks.

Initially, she thought that WordCamp was a formal conference with about 100 participants. So, on the first day of WordCamp Mumbai 2016, she was surprised to see so many WordCamp enthusiasts attending the conference and enjoying the relaxed and friendly environment.

After this wonderful experience, Meher attended many more meetings, volunteering where needed. At subsequent WordCamps, she took on more complex and responsible tasks, gradually getting to grips with all the nuances of organizing conferences.

In the following years, she took on new roles at each event, such as vetting speakers and sponsors, and coordinating volunteers. This allowed her to learn more about what an organizer must do, from planning to execution, to make WordCamp a successful event.
